The Sagot family keeps a cozy, friendly Marais hotel where each room is done in a classic French style but with a unique decor, from Empire divans or Louis XIII chairs to Napoleon III tables.

The nicest rooms are the so-called "chambres de charme," like nos. 37 and 29 with their canopy beds, or country-style no. 21 with heavy beamed ceilings and floral-print walls.

Nos. 2 and 3 are cozy duplex junior suites defined by beamed ceilings and huge curtained windows (no. 2 is the better—on a corner with windows on both sides).

"Chambres Classiques" rooms are smaller (and a bit cheaper), but still have nice touches, like wood-beamed ceilings, or the four-poster bed in no. 14.

You can sleep in and take breakfast in your room, or dine under the stony barrel vault of the 17th century basement.
